Give-What-You-Can (GWYC) simply means that for admission into any of our events, you contribute a sum of money according to:
(1) how much you can afford, and
(2) how much you value the work to be.
At Centre 42, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about and engage with Singapore theatre. This is why, up till 2016, all the programmes that we have presented for the public — The Vault, Living Room, and other “Centre 42 presents” projects — have been free admission.
However, due to funding revisions, free admission is no longer a sustainable option for us. To help ensure Centre 42 is able to continue providing these programmes, please do consider giving us a small sum when you arrive for any of our events pegged as GWYC. We recommend a sum of S$10.00, but please do give whatever is within your means. Literally, give what you can.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will help us to offset the costs incurred when artists research and develop their work for a “Centre 42 presents” programme. These costs include research materials, manpower and other resources needed for the rigorous behind-the-scenes work needed to produce meaningful and thought-provoking presentations.
But you don’t have to wait for a “Centre 42 presents” programme to make your contribution! You can also donate to us at giving.sg/Centre42, or approach any of our staff for cash and/or in-kind support!
